Greetings!
I guess I'll begin by answering some questions.
Where you are from?
I'm from Illinois, near St. Louis, MO. I've lived in this area all of my life.
Do you have a lot of debt or a little debt?
I would say the answer to that is a lot, considering my measly income. ![]()
What sort of debt do you have? (credit card, student loans, medical, house, etc)
Hmm, what sort of debt do I have. Mainly credit card debt. I also make house payments and car payments along with the cost of utilities, gas, and food. It's hard to pay for everything and not use the credit cards. But I know that I must do something.
Are finances affecting your life negatively? How?
My finances affect my life by making me feel like a failure. I've gone into bankruptcy twice in the past. The last one was just recently removed from my credit rating. And now I'm in deep debt again. So, yes, it's depressing.
What do you hope to get out of this site?
What do I hope to get from this site? I'm not sure. Maybe misery loves company.
I guess I just need to communicate with other people who are in the same predicament that I'm in. And perhaps I can gain some insight into why I find myself in financial trouble again.
Hi!
I just wanted to tell you... DON'T LOSE HOPE!! i'm sure it feels awful to have already been through such a horrible experience as bankruptcy. There is hope though. From my experience of reading things online and watching friends and family get close to being debt free and slip right back into it, it's not necessarily your money management, it's your behavior and/ or thought process.
When i feel dicouraged about my debt, the first thing i think about is going to shop. not even for clothes or electronics, for food! for necessities! But, because i'm down and want to shop how much more likely am i to spend more? just because it's on sale dosen't mean it's a good buy, you know?
I'm not saying this is what you do, i KNOW this is what i do, and it's that trying to catch yourself before you spend thats hard to do. Just examine your life. when you feel down where do you go? what do you do? a walk in the park is free and works wonders for the mind and body. You just need to look at your behaviors to make sure you aren't buying unnecessary things.
I don't mean to sound like i'm getting on your case, I just thought we should re-examine our spending habits, and then try again! Thanks for reading this long mess. Feel free to PM me anytime. I'm here cause i need support too.
