Hello everyone...

Since I am the first member of this forum (I built it, so naturally I'm the first) I thought I would start with an introduction.

My name is Mark and I started this forum for two reasons: 1) I wanted a place where people can go and get good advice and encouragement about their personal debt situation (and hopefully they can form a good debt strategy as well), and 2) I wanted to be able to offer people the opportunity to earn a little extra money to help pay off their debt and those pesky bills that add up every month.

My wife and I personally do deal with debt, but a lot of it isn't what I would consider to be "bad debt" (I really don't like any debt at all, but some debt is worse than others).  Most of our debt is comprised of student loans (the big bulk of things), medical debt (a bit of a backstory there), car payments, and house payments.  We don't have any credit card debt or lines of credit open that we are paying on.

Our goal is to be completely out of debt within 3 years.

My wife is a stay at home mom, and I am an online entrepreneur (thus this website), so income tends to come in peaks and valleys (right now we are in a valley...a deep, deep valley roll).

I look forward to meeting more people and seeing this site grow.  I really hope that it eventually helps thousands of people become debt free!

I will start by saying I am all for making some extra money webby (Mark).  So get me that info asap!

My name is Jason and my wife and I are not in debt as bad as we could be, nor as bad as we were 8 months ago.  When we got married we both had some debt that was bad that we brought into the marriage.  (but we both new this going forward)  We have been able to get rid of some of the debt in the 3 years we have been married.

We do have some credit card debt, I have a hefty school loan that will come due in a couple of years.  Then the medical bills are not bad, but there are many that chip away at the pie.  We are planning to be able to purchase a house within the next 1 - 1 1/2 years.  This may be tough where we have to rely on my income only.  My wife is a hairdresser and she just started at a salon, we are fairly new to the area so she has no cliental.

I am looking forward to this forum getting off the ground and getting some good advice and extra money.

I agree, I am all for making extra money to get back on my feet!

Sounds good to me!

Hi everyone.  I went down that dark road of Bankruptcy twice.  Once after having a triple bypass and being out of work for 4 months and then when my union went on strike for 5 months.  It's been 10 years since the second one and we are doing okay now.  But, we all know how that can change overnight.

Mark best of luck with this forum.  I do a lot of traveling but do plan to stop in.

Good Luck to all of us

Nick

I have never go through bankruptcy, but my better half did years ago.

I told the creditors each time, work with me and when I get back to work we will catch up.  Each time only a couple really did work with me.  I did not include them on the bankruptcy and my lawyer thought I was nuts.  I’m a firm believer in that if they really only wanted their money back they could do 2 steps. Stop all interest and only require to pay back what you owe at that time, and take away the privilege of using their card.

G'day all

Firstly let me say, Mark you are a fountain of innovative ideas, keep up the good work.
My name is Marty and I hail from Australia. My debt situation, while not bad, is certainly in need of repair. I have home and vehicle loans to take care of, credit card debt and my wife attends university so student loans will be beckoning soon plus all those little pesky bills referred to earlier. We wish to start a business soon so this will also incur debt.
Any advice directed at reducing debt and/or identifying income opportunities so as to offset debt will be extremely welcome.

Cheers
Marty

So where does this make a little money part come in? smile
