Heyy...my name is Melissa, and I, like all of you...are in debt.

I'm about $8500 in credit card debt. It feels really overwhelming...especially since I am a recent college grad and bills out the you know where. All of my paychecks go toward all of my bills and I have nothing left at the end of month.

I'm hoping to gain some advice and support from this forum...as well as provide my 2 cents! smile

Mellisa Could you get a second job? Or sell something? If you got a second part time job making $100 a week you would be debt free in less than 2 years.

Welcome to the board! big_smile I think that's the worst thing about debt.... the overwhelming feeling! Me too!  Can't wait to see you get down to $0 debt!cool

i do have a second job...actually its more like a third. with all the other bills, its stilla struggle every month and i barely make it. its usually the unexpected things that get me. i just cant ever get ahead

Don't get discoured. You will have unexpexted things that usually hit all at once. Start a emergency fund. Even putting away $25 $50 a month will start to add up. I know its tough you feel like what the heck am I doing. Stay with it you are doing all the right stuff. 3-6 months and you will see daylight where now it looks dark and dreary.

Is your dept going down? Are you just doing min payments?

Hi Melissa:

Welcome to the board! Debt can seem overwhleming, but take it one day at a time. The two things that you need to get out of debt once you have your plan is time and patience.
