Hi all,

Just joined and thought I would introduce myself.

My name is Mike and up until the beginning of this year I was in some serious debt, circa £70k at its worst, due to excessive use of credit cards and the ease with which loans are obtainable. It really got to a bad point where it was causing me health issues so I decided to sort it out.

I reviewed all my outgoings and determined that simply reducing them would help but not massively so I decided to trade my way out of it after I stumbled across the website Ebay whereby I could turn old items into some much needed cash. It took close to 8 years to sort out but eventually I managed to remove my debt and luckily I am now free of it (not including the mortgage).

Hopefully I will be able to bring some value to the forum and look forward to being an active member.

Regards,

Mike

Welcome aboard Auctionman -- hopefully, you can gain knowledge from many of the posts here.

Hi Mike.   Stick around and motive the rest of us on our way out!  smile

Hello Mike!
Welcome at debt management talk. I'm very proud of you because you managed to find ways and means to pay your debts. I think you experience about abusing credit cards is a good lesson for me. From now on I'll let my mom handle my own credit card so that I'll not be tempted to use it all the time.

Hi Mike,  good for you.  Finding a way to get extra cash is a definite way to get out of debt.  Many times it requires extra hours of work which now takes a toll on our health.  Hopefully we all will find a more easier way to bring in that extra money.  With that and all the different ideas on cutting our debt that are being posted here, we should do okay.

Best of luck

Nick
