I've already introduced myself, it was on the wrong thread however roll

I doubt my situation is like many others.  There's no sob story behind my debt -- no catastrophes, no student loans, no car payments -- just TOO MUCH SHOPPING.  So here I am now, digging myself out of $12,583.18 of consumer debt (my original total was $13, 642.54 in July).  I will be updating my total at the end of August, and I hope to be in the $11,000 range.  I will keep you all updated!

I have to admit, so far it has felt really good to pay down my debt.  I haven't wasted away from not shopping - amazing as it sounds big_smile

I've actually set up two blogs to track my NEW habits.  Please visit when you have time!

But your situation IS like many others.  Many, many others.  Most stories that you will read an encounter about debt will almost always include consumer debt, and it is probably in the five figure range for each of the people in those stories.  Consumer debt in America is the hundreds of billions of dollars, and aproaching the trillion mark.  So trust me when I say, that you are part of a very big group of people.  Heck, I'm in that group.  My parents are in that group.  Many of my friends are in that group.  Does it feel a bit better to know you're not alone?

It would feel a bit more honorable perhaps to be in debt from misfortune, but the thing is that you are being honorable right now by honoring the debts you've acrued.  Millions of people prefer to swipe and pay later, and as we know, they really PAY later.  Congratulations for taking responsibility for your debt and how you got there, and good luck to you!  You've made a very smart decision by comming here for advise and support.

Hello,

Nice link and it is useful also. I was just surfing about useful sites on Debt Elimination and found a good one www.debtxfactor.com it provides good support. I’m sure it would be benefited.
