I"ve been doing some odd jobs online, data entry, research, and what not. I recently got my check for $200, so instead of blowing it off, i opened a savings account and put the 200 in there, the bank gave me $25 for opening a account and that was included into the account.

Today I also paid off $600 off my credit card, now I only have $1,400 of debt left. I'm sooo excited. My goal is to be able to pay off at least $100 a month. If i get the job i applied to, i hope to be able to pay $400 a month. Fingers crossed on the job.

Anyway one else made any success or loss?

Way to go!  Saving is so important, even when you are trying to get out of debt. Keep up the good work!   My husband and I have an online savings account and over the past 4 months we have managed to save $2000.  If you make an effort to put what you can into your account each month, you will have a large balance in no time.

Way to go Soul!! Awesome job. Great thinking on the savings. I hope you get the job. However in the meantime you are going after what ever you can get!

WOW, i can only hope to save that much! I thinking I'll put all my birthday money into my savings account. Keep saving, you'll earn a lot of interest i bet.

Agreed.  any little bit in savings sep account goes a long way. I have a sep acc with about $500 in it started this month. Next month I will probably get another going.

another savings account? wouldn't it be more beneficial to put it in a one, and easier?

I'm all for simplicity on just 1 or 2 savings accounts but with the bonuses that are offered it's tempting to open up more than one smile

Great job on paying everything down. It really doesn't matter how fast or how much you are paying towards your debt as long as you are consistent and it is a plan that YOU are happy with.

I think I will open as many as I have the funds for. Depending on what I am saving for. Trips Toys Cars combining would be easier not as much to worry about.   However I am starting to feel  like I am missing something at one point I had 9 credit cards that I was paying now I am paying 3 I think I would be lost not managing multiples just kidding.

So now i will def. be putting in more than 100 bucks a month. I got the job!! wooh hoo! I'm so happy. It has flexible hours, and i can pay off my debt by the end of the year, plus i receive tuition reimbursement which is about $1000 after the semester ends. I'm gonna set aside about 400 for books, and the 600 for savings.

Haha, need to keep busy there huh tom? no its pretty good idea if you can manage it, with the rewards and seperate ones for different purposes.

Congrats on the new job, Soul! And way to go with the savings account. It sounds as if you're making serious progress on your financial goals. And I'll check out your fiction project, too--thanks for including the link.
