Today I signed up to buy a print that is being commissioned for our army unit by Don Stivers.  He is best known for his civil war paintings many of which are in high demand.  I have been deployed to Iraq for a while now and look at this as a souvenir.  The cost is discounted $75 for us and his lesser known paintings go for a minimum of $150.

Has anyone else found any purchases that turned out to be assets?

I was actually really good at making a profit on textbooks in college, Amazon is selling it for $9 and the bookstore is paying $30 at the end of the semester? Sounds good to me. Oh, that sucks the bookstore is only paying $15 for the old edition of that $100 book. I'll buy it off you for $25.(and sell it on ebay for $60.)
