So things have finally started to go in the right direction now, and I can't say I could be any happier! First off, my fiance quit his old job where they were continuously cutting his hours, and now he is working full time at a job he actually enjoys! Secondly, I have gone back to freelance writing part time to bring in a bit of extra cash each month. Won't be much, but every bit helps. And lastly, thanks to some of the suggestions on here I have found a small amount of spare cash through cashcrate.com as well as a few of those crazy survey websites. Plus, my piggy bank was just emptied, and it's already starting to be refilled at a fairly rapid rate!
In addition to all of the little things that are helping us get everything in line, we have also come up with a sort of plan on how we are going to pay off his car, my student loans, and all of our other random debts!
Yay for me! Hope all of you are doing well too!

Congratulations! It seems to me that getting control of your finances is an incremental thing - and you're doing the right things. Keep at it!
Excellent! Isn't it nice when things start to fall into place? Keep up the hard work! It's already paying off (Figuratively and literally).
Yes, I think the biggest factor in making things work out was finding a system that was reasonable. Before it seemed like I would create a budget and think that it would really work, and then deviate the next day and never really put the budget in place. This time I actually followed through.
Great job Akira!! Remember its a long race not a sprint, oe day at a time. Some days you will go backwards but you have to keep pushing forward.
