Randle, What did you decide on your car? Fin or cash?
I would love to upgrade from my ten year old truck, but I'm still about a year to two out.
I wish I would have followed the same strategy on my car payment. I ended up dragging the process out a lot longer than I should have.
I'm happy for you at least you're free from debt. I still have one year before I can paid my car.
I did that with my firt car, I was paying 300 a month so I decided since I had a few extra bucks, I would go ahead and pay 600 in stead. It cut my note in half by 2 years. It woul dhave taken me five years to pay it with only paying 300 a month. If you have the extra money to spend on doing things like that. I would say go for it plus it looks good on your resume. ![]()
Congratulations on paying off the car! It will be great having transportation, but no car payment.
How long do you plan to keep the car?
It is a great feeling, I actually just bough another car which I bought straight out. No payment at all. I like the fact that I don't have to pay a car note, just insurance. It's extra money in my pocket. to be able to see the extra money that you would have put into a car note, it makes you want to continue to buy cars cash out.
I wish I could of made extra payments on my car note. I never had any money or extra money for my car note. But I'm sure that if I did, it would have made my credit rating much better than it was. For some it can be easy if your car note was just $100 but having a $500, $600 car note isn't going to make it easy for you to double up on your note.
