Woo hoo!  Good job!
big_smile

I am not a big collector of "stuff".  That's puts me at a disadvantage for selling it.  LOL!

When we moved a year and a half ago, I pretty much cleared out everything.  (My house should be cleaner.)  Maybe it's time to look again, but I can't think of anything I have left to get rid of.  sad

Congratulations on the success stories. I just was wondering if anyone's been able to sell old clothing to "vintage clothing" stores?

I assume that it may be worth more in that market.roll

I have never been successful in selling clothing to the vintage stores.  I tried it with some stuff that I thought would work and nope, I ended up donating it all.  I have sold a lot of things on Craigslist.  I recommend that site, but do be careful a lot of flakes, but a lot of success as well.

Okay I read this challenge on the weekend and I've been spending time after work each day trying to find something else to de-clutter from my house.

Here's what I got.

Wedding Dress on Ebay - $300   (only worn once, ha ha)

Old phone on Ebay - $12

DVD on craigslist - $8

Old wedding ring to local pawn shop - $80

Old PC games to local games store - $38

Old books to local bookstore - $32

Woo hoo! That's $470 I didn't have last week. It's amazing what you find around the house that you never really noticed before.

I have tons of crap.  My husband and I have been trying to deal with our debt and search for money.  So we began searching through the house for things to sell.  At first, I couldn't let any of it go.  I kept thinking that I would need so many things...one day.  Now that we are talking about selling the house and relocating, I've decided I really don't need all these things.  I've filled the guest bedroom with crap.  Just because it's a wedding gift does not mean I have to keep it.  That's the hardest to come to terms with...and things my grandmother gave me before she died.  But I never use those things and I feel better knowing someone else can put it to good use smile  We're going to sell some on ebay and we're also going to have a yard sale as soon as the weather turns nice.  Cool thread.  Purging is hard but it feels good to recycle all the things that got us in this $$ mess.

I have my fingers crossed for you cathyinfo. Here's hoping your recycling effort of stuff you don't use anymore will cut down some of your debt for you big_smile

Thanks Raven.  That's real sweet of you smile Way to go with your sales.  That's quite an accomplishment in decluttering and making some $$$.

I sell things on Ebay and Half.com all the time, especially books. I make a couple of hundred a month and even though it isn't a lot it does help out with paying my bills.

I Think alot of us is sitting on more money than we think that we are. If we just took the time out to look through most of the stuff that we own. We could find an extra income.
