A poll:

On a scale of 0 to 5, rate how important paying off your debt is with 1 being "not important" and five being "What the heck are you throwing that bottle away for?  It's worth five cents!"

I'll go first:  5.  My credit cards are cut up, and even my DEBIT card is in the posession of a trusted friend so I spend only as necessary.

4 because . . .

no one in my family/friends know about my debt, so I a) want to get rid of it, but b) don't want it to become an issue . . . wink

I kinda gotta keep it on the DL, ya know!wink

But, that's what is so great about this site, huh!  I don't think any of you will be telling on me!  I hope!

Do i sense blackmail.. hmmm. this could be a great way to pay off some of those loans. lol.

I would have to say 4. I still have quite a bit of debt and I am surfing balances. Plus I need to re-fi so the credit scores go hand in hand with consistant utilization of credit.

I'm going with the crowd and saying 4.  My debt consumes my life making it extremely important to pay it off, but I'm still skiddish on making huge life-changing transitions to make it happen.  Make sense?

I'm going with 5

My ex-husband left us with a mountain of debt after the divorce. It's just me and my 4 year old daughter now and I want HIS debt problems off my back once and for all and I don't care who knows it.
