I had an interview today for a 2 night a week night auditor job for a hotel. I'll basically be doing the front desk and running end of day reports. It's 11-7 and that works for me so I don't have to pay for daycare for my children. I should be able to bring home about 140 a week after taxes. Plus, there is a possibility for extra shifts. I'm hoping to do a double tackle, and do half to emergency fund, half to debt.
Awesome! $140 a week is $560 a month!!!!!! The hours will be a little rough, but at least it's only twice a week. Do you have experience in hospitality? It's something I've considered as well...
I just started my first day of work (part-time, and full-time student) so its been really hectic. But i love the job! I work for a iSold it ebay store, where i'm the photographer(
), lister, and shipment handler.I used to work retail, but the store allows us to wear casual wear (even gym shoes!) and a uniformed shirt. I love it because i save so much money not having to update my wardrobe. Plus its fun, small, and relaxed. I can finally have some cash flow, and save for my move next year.
And I finally went back to freelancing again! I had been writing for a couple months but gave it up when it became too overwhelming and then I got my job at the restaurant. Now I'm working at the restaurant 4 days a week and and writing three days a week. Writing will really only bring in an extra $200 a month, but that is enough to pay for food for our puppy and make small payments on my student loans.
Soul2quz Congrats on the job with I sold it. I am happy for you!!! Thumbs up and 5 stars!

Thanks tomtastic!!
You just put a smile on my face.
If you're going to college, I have several ideas.
Get paid to tutor, I did. And it was during school hours so the nights were mine.
All but the weekends when I worked...at the bar. Being a bartender is only bad if you have to work until 2 and you have class at 8. But, schedule your classes to fit your lifestyle. I was also a bouncer for the same bar and then I only worked weekends. Good money. Split the door. Not bad.
I delivered subs too. The store closed at 10 so I knew I was going to be home by a decent hour. I also got pretty good tips.
I have had so many weird part-time jobs in my life. Some have been great fun. Others pathetically boring. Some were just for the perks.
All were for the extra cash while I was paying my way through college - and I didn't want to resort to "dancing" to get there. Here's an idea of some of the things I put up with.
1 - delivering pizza (got free pizza and decent tips)
2 - delivering subs (got free subs and good tips)
3 - promoting alcoholic drinks in night clubs/bars (free alcohol and brilliant tips)
4 - manually screwing lids on plastic specimen sample containers (very weird, low pay, but done in my living room, so not bad)
5 - writing 'confessions' stories in those wonderfully trashy confessions mags (easy, done at home)
6 - writing tips and ideas for magazines that accept jokes, recipes, money saving tips, etc (easy, done at home)
7 - answering phone calls for an 'adult' chat line service (very very weird - but great pay)
8 - answering phone calls for a 'psychic' call service (very amusing, highly creative - great pay)
9 - run a website, earn with google ads, affiliate products, banner advertising etc (still do this - I love it)
Oh the things we do to get ourselves through college![]()
