What do you do/have you done to make a few extra bucks??

Tonight I contacted my old temp agency to see if they had night work available, and I think I"m starting to mystery shop. (I'll let you know how that pans out).

I've sold a few things online, but I haven't been too successful. Garage sales don't work for us as we honestly don't have that much stuff.

So what do you do??

I was checking into doing surveys on line.  Not so much for myself but to do a review on my website.  Most of these you have to purchase a ebook that you only access on their site and they usually charge $30 to 50 dollars.  The book contains links to scores of companies that offer a chance to either be entered into a sweepstakes or you may be chosen to do a paid survey.

So far i have 18 enteries into their sweepstakes roll.  My luck last friday I had 2 emails for a 5 dollar survey and a 23 dollar survey.  I had to respond within a certain time and of course I missed it.  I didn't see the emails till Sunday night.

I think once you show you will take surveys on a regular basis, thats when you get the paid ones.
If your interested try  Greenfieldonline.com.   I get nothing for this recommendation.

I would be curious if you decide to try them, and if you do make some money.   In my opinion if you see those ads for $100 an hour is alittle far fetched.

I earned extra bucks online by blogging. I also joined any kind of online competition. Part-time job is very important for me becaus it helps to support financial needs. Now I'm planning for a new business.

I signed up for one place and all I got was a ton of spam ever since. I may have filled out a survey but I don't know if I ever finished it. It took over 45 minutes and was a bit confusing.

I'm hesitant to try it again for a while. Since other means are ACTUALLY making me money. But have heard of people doing surveys and making money.

Hope it works for you!

I write articles online for extra money. It pays pretty good and there are a numerous amounts of companies who will pay you to write for them.

I pick up extra shifts.  Which I hate, but I do it anyway.  I can make a lot of money per shift but the work can be brutal (that's why its a lot of money per shift).

Also, I just refuse to take out cash or go to the grocery store.  I force myself to use the stuff in my cabinets and freezer and not eat out or buy new stuff -- I get creative cooking and use what I have.

I can actually save a ton of money by just not putting cash in my pocket and by staying out of the grocery store.

There are bunches of opportunities at http://www.guru.com
Anything from marketing to web page design, to hardcore server side application programming. For the techies out there, its a chance to earn a buck or 2.

littlecat123's post about clinics reminded me of using Salon schools for discounted beauty treatment.  We first started going when a friend of ours was in the school. Hubby was getting haircuts for $5 (nice ones too) and if I splurge to get a pedicure, etc, I go there and pay about 1/3 I would other places. (But none of that is in the budget right now)

I"ve also heard that going to dental schools to get work done is much cheaper. I may look into it soon seeing as I don't have $400 sitting around to fill the gapping hole in my tooth. big_smile

I do website maintenance for others whenever the opportunity arises.  I work VERY part-time as oncall staff for a friend who owns her own business.  I have been known to do a survey or two for cash or products.  I do internet marketing.  Basically, if an opportunity presents itself that I can physically and mentally accomplish without sacrificing my family's needs, I consider it.

I know that was a really general answer, but I take it as it comes.  Know what I mean?

You can't be too terribly lazy if you are looking for ways to earn some extra income.

I have looked into the "paid surveys" sites...many of them.  I haven't seen a dime from what I have done.  Congratulations to those who have actually made some money from them.  I wish I was one of them.

One thing I have done in recent days is to do some free lance voice work for commercials and documentaries.  It's fun and, depending on the project, pays fairly well for the amount of thime I have to put in.
