I also used to go round to peoples homes and charge $45 an hour for techie stuff, such as exorcising their PC of demons etc
Fitting surround sound systems, sometimes it seemed I was keeping an older person company (discounted rate to retirees).

I am a bit of a computer geek, so I help some older folks in my church with their computer questions. They pay me a little to help and I charge them a lot less than they would pay elsewhere, so it all works out.
I had thought about going the paid survey route, and gave up after reading post after post from people who had not gotten paid anything.

We're in debt because I WAS lazy. Being a stay at home now, I don't have time to be lazy now, lol.
I think alot of people should think about owning their own business especially if you are going to be online all the time why not do it. IT makes sense
I went to my old job at a movie theater and asked for shifts on the weekends. Business at this place is slow, so on Saturdays and Sundays, I sit around reading magazines, doing crosswords, and drinking free soda for $9 an hour. ...and I used to spend $20-$30 a week on movie tickets. Now, I can see them for free, and every other week I get $80-$150. The downside is if I want the extra money, I can't have any big weekend plans.
I take on extra "on-call" weeks for my social work team which equals about $300+ a week.
I write for Associated Content.
I declutter often and sell everything but books on eBay and use Cash4Books for selling books.
I offer to do odd jobs for the neighbors. Yesterday I was washing our car and the neighbor offered me $20 to do his too. ![]()
hi,
I just started looking for free lance jobs on the net, but i couldnt find anything available for anyone who hasnt had any experience. So a little sad but still looking.
I've recently taking up selling cosmetics through a catalog company called motived for a little extra cash here and there (with 30% commission) which is a mesely $50 bucks extra a month (which is better than nothing) and hoping it will build.
Oo and i also started doing surveys for a online site which offers points for every survey you take 500 points, then after a certain amount of points you can pick a gift certificate of your place of choice from a list, i recently received a $5 one for amazon. i like the surveys cause they take no more than 10 minutes and i do it on my im-home-im-bored-and-ill-do-it days.

I am starting some blogging to try it out. Also, http://www.domystuff.com seems to be an interesting concept for odd jobs.
These are all such great ideas! I've had a few home businesses (Partylite, Tupperware, others which will remain nameless) and Tupperware was the best to me. I only had to quit because we were moving and expecting again. I've tried selling clothing and such online and have had minimal luck. I'm a high school teacher by trade, but home with the kids and I've had a dream of writing children's literature for as long as I can remember. I'm in the process of pursuing that while I'm home now. I'd also really like to get a website going for crocheted wire jewelry that I make, but need to save for that yet!
