I did that for awhile. I stuffed it all in a piggy bank. But I ended up having to use it and haven't been able to start it up again.

I put my extra change in a jar too and it does add up. I once saved up almost $50.00 all in chage. The bank was thrilled when I went to deposit all that money in change. LOL
I have a better chance of savings pennies and putting pennies in my sons piggy bank because I always find a reason to spend my change. You know now days they have coin machines that turn your change into dollars. So not good!
Since we recently moved to a cash system, I've been throwing all my change (from groceries, eating out, etc...) into a jar. It keeps the envelopes simpler and also beefs up the jar at the same time! I'm hoping I'll end up with enough at the end of each month to continue paying for some encyclopedias we just bought for our family.
