We just received a small inheritence.  My spouse wants to use it as a down payment on a home.  However I've been hearing a lot on the news programs that are warning against this right now.  I've actually heard several analysist say rent don't buy, because of the craziness over the market right now.  I don't want to get into something tha's going to land us in finacial pain.  Any thoughts?

Now is a great time to buy (depending on where you are).  Home prices are lower and interest rates are pretty good.  Plus lenders are more cautious than ever which means you will probably get a good standard loan.

Thanks.  I'm actually looking at a property right now that i being sold by the owner, no bank morgage needed.  It looks like a pretty good deal, but I'm going to get a lawyer to go over the fine print.

It is the right time to buy if you have a down payment with good credit.  Look at all the foreclusures.

sacback you are going to get a lawyer?  What about your real estate agent, he is trained in this area?
