I know someone who filed for bankruptcy, and years later still itemizes her expenses as she makes them.

I know this helps her keep track of her budget, but I was wondering if many people who file for bankruptcy continue to do this years later?

It's a responsible thing to do because you don't want to put yourself back in the same situation you were in before right? So why not take responsibility when it comes to the things you purchase.

It's certainly not a bad thing. I assume that not everyone actually writes down their purchases like that, though.

As you say, it's a very responsible thing to do.

Wow, this is right up my alley. I've filed bankruptcy twice in the past. I just got the last one off my credit report.

You'd think I would have learned by now. roll But, I'm right back in credit card debt. I am really bad about keeping records. I really should write down every cent I spend.

I think that's a good idea. I need to get into the habit of doing that.

Most people that don't keep some sort of a budget will fall down the path of bankruptcy.  Why don't we do it then?  Because, when we don't have enough money then it is hard to make a negative budget, so we would rather not see the turmoil written down.

I understand this as I fight with myself, due to no income at this moment and no budget.  Even in the previous example, This lady that Ricardo knows is a smart lady and trying to better her position financially in life.   She probably ended up in bankruptcy due to not tracking her expenses.
